Quick Review:
What makes a good indie game for me? Space + Music + Magic = Samorost 3. Developed by the same studio behind some of my favourite games like Botanicula, Samorost 3’s story-telling, beautiful graphics and fantastic music make the game shine bright like a diamond.
You play a space gnome, who after coming across a magic flute, goes on a space adventure of finding the flute’s origin. The game plays out with the typical good-truimphs-over-evil storyline but with Amanita Design behind it, there’s gold to be found.
The graphics is nothing short of the quality Amanita Design is known for producing and they pushed the bar even higher by incorporating musical elements as key interaction points in Samorost 3. It’s a beautiful game both visually and aurally, so much so the game won awards in the sound department.
Although it’s made as a loose continuation of earlier games Samorost and Samorost 2, you will still enjoy Samorost 3 even without knowing the context of the previous two games.
